Puglia is the undisputed leader of Italian olive oil, historically producing between 40% and 50% of the nation’s total output. In peak years, this single region can account for over 60% of Italy’s “liquid gold.” Foggia alone is home to the largest concentration of olive trees in Europe.
This massive contribution is driven by an incredible agricultural infrastructure:
- Millions of Trees: The region is home to approximately 60 million olive trees, some of which have stood since Roman times.
- A Network of Artisans: Over 700 active oil mills (frantoi) and 16,000 companies work tirelessly during the harvest to transform fresh olives into premium oil.
- Regional Powerhouses: While the Province of Bari remains a top producer, our own home in the Gargano National Park offers a unique microclimate where we tend to over 400 hectares of protected, ancient groves.

- Ogliarola Garganica: The star of many Olio Clemente oils, known for its delicate, fruity aroma and almond aftertaste.

- Peranzana: An elegant variety from northern Puglia with notes of artichoke and tomato.
